【English edition】World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland
Chancellor Angela Merkel has officially opened the World Economic Forum in the Swiss ski-resort town of Davos. She called upon participants to take seriously the concerns many people have about globalization. "We need a global economy that observes the rules of a fair framework", she said. At this year's meeting, 2400 representatives of politics, business, and society will discuss global problems, including energy-security, climate change, and AIDS.
