75.000 euro fell down in Kaiserslautern (a city in the middle west of Germany with a good football team)

The winner of a lottery decided to ditch his new money. The winner wanted the money fell down from the sky, so a man let the money fell down from a crane. About
130.000 people acceded on the lottery waiting in the cloudy outside for a few hours. Although many people were unlucky for losing in the lottery but everything was peaceful and friendly. The lucky men and women could take a few hundred euro home, but they don't have to use additives, only with their hand they could run after the money.

It's a funny story, isn't it? =)!!

Snow and ice create traffic chaos in the south
link:http://www.germnews.de/dn (We, 24.01.2007 )
Heavy snow fall and black ice on the pavement continue to cause severe traffic problems in southern Germany and neighbouring countries. Police in Bavaria called conditions "chaotic". At least three people were killed in resulting traffic accidents. Three Autobahn freeways (8, 9, 81) had to be closed for a period. Flights at the Munich and Stuttgart airports were delayed for hours. Rail traffic also had to be restricted. Several border crossings were closed. Austria and the Czech Republic were similarly affected. In France, the regions of Alsace, Burgundy, and Massif Central were hardest hit. In many areas, electrical power was knocked out as lines were torn by the weight of the snow and ice.

Doubles joy for Black and Huber
by Aaron Lawton Friday, 26 January, 2007 [News Source]

Zimbabwe's Cara Black and South Africa's Liezel Huber have claimed the Australian Open women's doubles crown at Melbourne Park with a 6-4 6-7(4) 6-1 victory over rising talents Yung-Jan Chan and Chia-Jung Chuang of Chinese Taipei.

(...)(Skip some section.)

Chan and Chuang, the first Chinese Taipei pair to make a Grand Slam final said they were disappointed not to have been able to climb the final hurdle.
"I think they changed in the third set and put us under pressure," said Chan. "We are a little bit disappointed."
"We just did our best."

Note:Chinese Taipei is Taiwan. Please call us Taiwan. We can't use "Taiwan" in the world, because China intrude their opinions upon others.

1/18 Storm Wreaks Havoc in Northern Europe(from Germany)

【English Edition】

Storm Wreaks Havoc in Northern Europe

With its hurricane-force winds, the storm Germany meteorologists dubbed"Kyrill" is leaving a trail of destruction in its wake as it travels across Northern and Central Europe. Twelve have been killed so far, but there have been no estimates of the total damage.

The fierce North Sea storm "Kyrill," with hurricane-force winds of up to 191kph (118 mph), roared through Germany on Thursday, as schools and businesses closed so that childrens and workers could seek safety in their homes. The storm even forced United States Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice to cut short a visit to Berlin -- where she was meeting with Chancellor Angela Merkel -- in order to fly to London before the winds grew too strong.

The powerful storm had already wrecked havoc in the Netherlands, France and Britain, and by early evening on Thursday, at least 12 people had been killed in storm-related incidents.

[A Bomb!?]
I just received an opened but sealed back mail today.「Hope it's not a bomb??」I wondered. Then I just realized it's a Christmas card from my sister. It's so touching. However, why had it been opened? That's because my sister bought me a "musical card", with small mercury batteries and wire inside. Well, you all know that after the terrorist attack on Sep 11, US government worries about being attacked again. It's pretty natural for them to unseal and check something which looks like a bomb. After examination, they re-sealed it back using duct tape from "US Department of homeland security". You can even see "US Custom Protection" these words were printed on the tape. (Apparently, my mail had been checked by the Customs)....Seeing this, i felt not only my privacy had been invaded, but also they do make a fuss over such a trifle.
ps. the minute i realized that my mail had been opened and examined, a few thoughts came across my mind; "Am i in the movie right now? Do they know I'm a spy already?". ps2. thanks my 2nd older sister for the card.It means so much to get a letter from my folks when we are not around each other, especially the one which my nephew drew a picture of me on it.(I'll buy you everything, Jay-my nephew)
