Snow and ice create traffic chaos in the south

Heavy snow fall and black ice on the pavement continue to cause severe traffic problems in southern Germany and neighbouring countries. Police in Bavaria called conditions "chaotic". At least three people were killed in resulting traffic accidents. Three Autobahn freeways (8, 9, 81) had to be closed for a period. Flights at the Munich and Stuttgart airports were delayed for hours. Rail traffic also had to be restricted. Several border crossings were closed. Austria and the Czech Republic were similarly affected. In France, the regions of Alsace, Burgundy, and Massif Central were hardest hit. In many areas, electrical power was knocked out as lines were torn by the weight of the snow and ice.

冰雪讓德國南部交通大亂
大雪與黑冰（譯註：顏色與道面相同，對駕車有危險性）降落路面造成德國南部及鄰近國家嚴重的交通問題。巴伐利亞(Bavaria，西德南部之一省)的警察將這種情況稱之為「混亂無序」！至少三人因交通事故喪生，而三條高速公路（8、9、81號）在這段期間內因此封閉。幕尼黑與司徒加特(Munich and Stuttgart)機場之航班至少延誤了數小時之久。鐵路交通亦受限制，數條跨邊境線路停駛。奧地利與捷克共和國也受到同樣的影響。在法國的亞爾薩斯(法國東北部之一省)、勃艮地（法國東南部，以江酒著稱）以及中央高地（法國東部及東南部之高原）等區域被嚴重襲擊。許多地區因冰雪的重量導致線路被撕扯而電力中斷。
PS：今天的最近消息，因車禍而意外身亡已累計至七名。
